June has been one wild month for Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson. The two, who met in 2016 on the set of SNL, officially confirmed their relationship earlier this month via Instagram.
Both Grande and Davidson were in serious relationships prior to getting together. Grande had been dating rapper Mac Miller for several years, while Davidson was in an on-again/off-again relationship with actress Cazzie David.
However, both relationships apparently ended sometime in May. Not long after confirming their relationship, rumors began spinning that the two were engaged. Davidson finally confirmed their engagement news via Instagram on June 16th.
However, many began realizing that the couple has been engaged for much longer than we expected or realized.
This week, Grande was seen sporting that giant engagement ring everyone has been talking about.
But, at the iHeartRadio Wango Tango show on June 2nd, she was wearing the same ring.
Clearly, this means the two have been engaged for way longer than anyone knew. Plus, it puts Grande’s breakup from Mac Miller pretty damn close to her “I said yes” to Pete Davidson.
While many people think this engagement was “too fast,” many Twitter users are defending the couple’s decision.
The last thing my embarrassing ass is going to do is criticize Ariana Grande of all people for moving too fast with a guy. I always move too fast. I move lesbian fast. The U-Haul is idling outside before brunch is even over.

Everyone is so mad about Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson getting engaged “too fast”. Like what does that even mean. Just because you’ve been dating for 12 years or stay engaged for 5 doesn’t mean everyone wants to move at that slow of a pace. When you know, you know ??♀️

Ariana grande got out of a relationship that made her unhappy and found happiness w someone else so what we’re NOT gonna do is shame her for moving on “too fast” OKAY

literally who cares if ariana grande and pete davidson are engaged? what kind of person gets all upset because they, a random person on the internet, thinks a couple they have never met is “moving too fast”. get over it. they’re happy.

Everyone is hating on @ArianaGrande ‘s “too fast” (?) relationship with Pete Davidson yet most of you have been in a toxic ass relationship for 5+ years OR STILL RUN BACK TO THE SAME GUY THAT DID YOU DIRTY. ?

I feel for ariana grande bc she was in an abusive and draining relationship, did what was best for her, and she found someone who actually cares about her. But she’ll be ridiculed and blamed for “moving on too fast” ??♀️ https://t.co/36h3JX3AY2
