Pete Davidson Is Getting Dragged For Making A Disgusting Joke About The Ariana Grande Concert Bombing

If you follow celebrities and their love lives, you’d know that Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande have been moving rather quickly since they began dating in June 2018.

The two went public with their relationship in early June via Instagram.

It came as a surprise to many who followed both Davidson and Grande, as the two were in rather serious, long-term relationships prior to dating. Davidson was dating actress and model Cazzie David for years, on and off. Grande, on the other hand, was dating rapper Mac Miller for years, as well. Reports indicate that both relationships ended in May.

The two had met on SNL when Grande appeared as the guest host in 2016. But, the two had run into each other recently after both of their breakups and according to sources, bonded over some “dark times” they both went through. People Magazine reported that the two dealt with acts of terrorism in different ways.

“They’ve both been through hardships so that’s something they definitely have in common. They’ve both dealt with some dark stuff at a young age.”

By this, the source was talking about Pete Davidson’s father’s death in the terrorist attacks in New York City on September 11, 2001. And, the attack in Manchester during an Ariana Grande concert that killed 22 and injured over 500 people.

Ariana Grande apparently felt so much for Davidson and the loss of his father, that she got a tattoo recently to commemorate his death. Paparazzi caught photos of Grande walking with Davidson with a brand new tattoo on her ankle–matching the one Davidson also has–to represent the firefighter badge number his father wore before his death.

While it’s a kind gesture, Ariana Grande fans are calling Pete Davidson out for not being as sentimental towards Grande’s own struggle with terrorism. An old clip of Davidson during a comedy routine has resurfaced. According to reports, five months after the bombing occurred, Pete Davidson made a joke during his comedy set at the Los Angeles Laugh Factory saying

“Ariana Grande must know how famous she is because Britney Spears didn’t have a terrorist attack at her concert.”

Fans on Twitter were disgusted and began dragging Davidson for making such a horrifying joke about a tragedy where many lost their lives.

Some made a point that the two were not together at the time, so Grande had no say in the joke, but he does owe people an apology.

But, some thought that there’s no reason fans should be shocked by his off-color joke, seeing as the comedian frequently jokes about his own father’s death.

Regardless of the joke, I truly think that incidents where innocent people lose their lives should be off the table when it comes to comedy–especially seeing how much if affected Ariana Grande as a person and an artist. I have a feeling he’s going to have some explaining to do to his fiancé.
